Backlink Campaign Intake SOP and Template
An SOP and intake template for starting a Backlink Marketplace campaign.
This SOP and intake template covers how to start a Backlink Marketplace campaign. It standardizes the intake so every campaign begins with a documented brief. See Backlink Marketplace Buyer's Guide: Campaign Intake for the full process.
Objective
Capture the campaign goal, target pages, budget, audience, and constraints into a written brief that travels with the campaign.
Procedure
1Capture the business goal
State the goal as a verifiable outcome (a live, disclosed placement pointing to the agreed page). Do not set ranking goals.
2List target pages
Identify the pages placements should point to. Confirm each has commercial value. See Defining Target Pages.
3Set the budget
Budget publisher fees, commission, content, and a revision reserve. See Setting a Backlink Campaign Budget.
4Define the audience
Describe who the placements should reach and any brand-safety constraints.
5Document constraints
List prohibited categories, geography limits, and disclosure requirements.
6Write the brief
Compile the above into a written brief. Every later decision is checked against this brief.
