Approval, Rejection, and Revisions for Publishers
How publishers approve, reject, and request revisions on placements.
The publisher approval workflow covers how publishers approve, reject, and request revisions on marketplace placements. This guide covers the workflow and when to use each outcome. See Publisher Operations in the Backlink Marketplace for the full guide and Publisher Outreach and Approval SOP for the SOP.
Approval outcomes
| Outcome | When to use | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Approve | Content meets all standards | Publish with disclosure and correct attribute |
| Request revisions | Content needs changes (accuracy, anchor, style) | Return to buyer with specific feedback |
| Reject | Content cannot meet standards or is off-topic | Return to buyer with reason |
The revision process
- Identify the specific issues (accuracy, anchor, disclosure, style).
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to the buyer.
- Allow one or two revision rounds.
- If revisions do not resolve the issues, reject.
