Lead Routing SOP and Template
An SOP and template for routing leads by site, location, and intent.
This SOP and template covers how to route leads to the right destination by site, location, and intent. Lead routing ensures leads reach the right person or system quickly. See Lead Forms for Local Sites for form design.
Objective
Route each lead to the correct destination (sales, support, location manager, or CRM) based on the source site, location, and lead intent.
Procedure
1Capture lead metadata
Record the source site, location, form type, and lead intent with each submission.
2Apply routing rules
Route by site (each site to its owner), by location (to the nearest location manager), and by intent (sales vs. support).
3Deliver the lead
Send the lead to the destination (email, CRM, Slack, or phone) with the full metadata.
4Confirm receipt
Log the delivery and confirm the lead was received. Flag undelivered leads for follow-up.
5Track outcomes
Track whether the lead converted. Use this to refine routing rules.
